In making the works, Vemo typically works with a mix of virtual, mechanical and manual methods to model, create, dissect and rearrange the form.
The color of her work here is not a surface coating but hardened, pigmented mineral paint built up layer by layer and repeatedly sanded smooth.
The resulting works condense color, matter, and sculptural form into spatial presences that oscillate between chromatic energy and materiality
and subtly intervene in the surrounding space.
